Although it really exists and the map based on it, the map is not a model of Schlosseck. The construction is in parts complete fictional.
Castle Schlosseck, ruined castle which was built at place of an arrangement(enclosure) to be dated the 9th/10th century. It lies near Hardenburg, a part of town of Bad Duerkheim in Rhineland-Palatinate, about the Isenachtal on a projection of the Rahnfels.

Real History
About the castle any documentary documents are absent and its original name is unknown. The name Schlosseck is a postmedieval national-verbal tradition. In the early 13th century a highly medieval new building was established. In view of the territorial relations at that time the counts of Leiningen may be assumed as developers. Archaeological excavations proved that it probably still fell victim in the same century to a fire, but in the 14th century it was still inhabited.
Your History
You are Eckehardt of Schweiningen, and for many years you deliver feuds with those of Leiningen, a powerful count's gender. You believe, the city of D¼rkheim would be entitled to you, and because they remain wilful, you have agreed to destroy Schlosseck to create in this way clear facts.
About the map
The map is one of level 4 (of 10) and hasnt so much fortifications and ressourges. But it is powerful, so you should be careful and find the weaknesses. You will get during the fights some bowmen. If you do not need them, delete them.
The file should be now updated. Some of the towers have wooden staircases, quite common in the middle ages. If enemies were near, they destroyed the staircases. But this map had a problem .... ;-) as sims quite human, they are lazy too and don't walk longer ways. When the wooden bridge were destroyed, they did not use the main portal and stayed like sitting ducks in the castle ...
I recommend again only to play as an attacker. The A.I. cannot handle big castles so well.
Later on, you will find the same castle for defending. It will be again a siege map, put designed as invasion to make the map mire lively. Furthermore, the script will have an other structure ....
