First let me tell you, that this is my first map. Don't be too harsh with me pls.
I will do more maps like this, making a story line. First is this, in a desert.
Storyline:
Once there was a cruel fight in this desert, an european lord fought an emir. There was for a long time no
winner, but then the emir finally defeated the lord, destroyed all he could. But before he could even destroy
the last there was, a little gate as defense for the peasants working on the river grassland, richard lionheart
came with his thousands of men, destroying and killing all arabian thigns there were. Now, there are still some
ruins, left over, remembering at that time. And 3 teams are fighting for the victory nowadays, 2 arabian lord,
wanting back what once theirs was, and two european lords, not knowing of each other.
Unbalanced of course. I would do it like this: snake / pig vs phillip / marshall / sheriff / frederick vs saladin
and sultan.
All in all a 2 vs 1 vs 1 match.
Map 1. My first map. enjoy. hf. leave a rating pls.
Lord Psycom.
fixed an error:
if you placed an ai lord in the bottom right corner he did not do anything.

Hi Lord Psycom! I just take a look at your map and here is some tought of mine :
1.The way you put the iron and stone, well the ai i believe will not build mines or quarries on it because the ai needs more larger space to put them(i might be wrong, i haven't test yet)
2.I suggest you read an article called mapmaking 101 in here to understand how to build a natural looking fords and oasis. try this combination : oasis grass near a watery area -> mix oasis grass and thick scrub when its get a further area(use 3rd smallest brush to mix it) and uses thick scrubb or mix it up with scrub before it was finally turn into earth
3. Try placing animals LAST because it will populate and if you place it first, your maps will be overwhelmed with them
4. I like the placement of the ruined castle. It looks like that it was located inside the cave
5. I like the story
Overall, you still got so much to learn, i suggest reading mapmaking 101 article to learn and if also, if you don't mind i can edit the map and send it to you so you will understand perfectly what i'm talking about :) |

Okay, I will look for the article.
Thank you for your output once again, but I did this mostly in a rush, just to give you the idea of what I ment with the map.

I've tested this map and it's very good.
But I think there is too much of unused space, west of hill between center and north-east player you could place another keep.
Everything else is OK.
I like ruins very realistic ;) |

Thanks Just_Lord,
The unused space is kind of wanted, yeah I could place some cacteen, or a little pond. Or some more hills / stony landscape. But all at all I wanted to leave it "free". This map was not meant to be a good map, I made it as an example for an other lord here on the forum.
But I will make more maps, because I started a story...
and thank you for your comment. Appreciate it.
