This is Helmzdeep from the movie Lord Of The Rings the two Towers. This map is REALLY HARD just like the movie but pretty fun. You have your big castle that I tryed to make look as much alike the one in the movie as i could. Also look for the two other maps im going to upload, Helmzdeep,Breached and Helmzdeep,CourtYard these are not as hard as this one but are fun. |

Playability: 3/5
Another variation on the Helm's Deep theme from Wildfire. This time you are taking on the role more in keeping with the film, defending against the attacking hordes. This takes on more of an open battle though, due to some curious design the outer walls don't take on much use. It's not the best of Wildfire's maps, but it's still quite interesting to play. If you like masses of troops scrapping away then this is probably for you.
Balance: 2/5
I have to be honest here and say that this was rather easy to beat, despite some enormous invasions to cope with. Moving all the archers to the inner walling near the keep, extending the walling to hold them and pulling all swordsmen and macemen to defend the gatehouse paid dividends, and I was able to massacre the enemy without too much trouble. Fewer troops at your disposal would remedy this.
Creativity: 3/5
Okay. Not a bad effort, it's pleasing to see work which allows masses of troops to scrap away. The recreation of Helm's Deep here by way of the castle isn't too bad, but nothing that smacks of originality.
Map Design: 3/5
A little disappointing. Wildfire has modelled something quite good here, but the real letdown is the lack of finer terrain modelling. The landscape takes on a rough appearance and whilst it's hard to judge something which strictly speaking doesn't exist, I couldn't help but feel that the map lacked something. Still, it functions well, largely due to stairs over the outer walls allowing the troops to move freely to the edge of the keep area.
Story/Instructions: 2/5
Not much here to warrant a score higher than a 2. The author has provided some notes on what the map involves, and whilst i'm sure many are aware of the story by now, it would still be nice to see some more content, or thoughts by the author on the design, problems encountered, playability issues, etc.
IN SUMMARY
Big battles are quite popular and this should be played that fancy an enormous scrap. I still feel it needed more polishing though. |

Playability: 4.5
Very hard yet highly playable. I did find it easy to begin, but by the end I was almost anialated
Balance: 3
Sure you can make more troops, but there is about 5000 troops attacking you in this level.
Creativity: 4
Very creative, a series based on the lord of the rings, interesting
Map Design: 4.5
Good job on building the scene
Story/Instructions: 2
I apologize for the bad mark, but you didnt provide much of a story. I even had to go to the custom scenario section to find the goals.
Additional Comments:
This level was very difficult. I had to group all my troops in one spot to prevent attackers from passing. But by the end, I only had 200 archers perched on the stronghold. Very difficult. |
